Sustainability – Why Now?
Why is it worth dealing with sustainability now if it is not yet mandatory?
Because in the long run, it means a competitive advantage, reduces risks, and prepares the company for future regulatory and market expectations. Early preparation avoids later, urgent, and costly forced solutions, and often results in operational efficiency on its own (e.g., by optimizing energy and resource use).
What business benefits does a sustainability strategy offer?
It strengthens the company’s reputation and credibility, increases the trust of customers, partners, and investors, improves financing and tender opportunities, and provides a competitive advantage in meeting supplier and investor expectations.
Where can I find up-to-date sustainability information?
In the News section of the Planet Fanatics website, on the Fenntartható Fejlövés blog, and in our Sustainability Honestly (Fenntarthatóság őszintén) podcast (available on YouTube and Spotify). (available only in Hungarian)

ESG Basic Concepts
What is ESG?
An approach gaining increasing emphasis in the business world that integrates sustainability aspects into organizational operations along three pillars — environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance. Originally brought to the surface by the demands of responsible investors, today it has also been made indispensable by the expectations of regulators and society.
What does sustainability consulting mean?
It is an expert service that helps companies consciously integrate environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) aspects into their operations in alignment with their business goals — ranging from ensuring regulatory compliance to achieving measurable sustainability results.
What are the CSRD and ESRS?
The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) is the European Union’s sustainability reporting directive, which standardizes corporate sustainability reporting. The ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) is the EU standard package that details the topics and data content on which companies falling under the scope of the CSRD must report.
What does double materiality analysis mean?
It examines which sustainability topics are material for the business — on the one hand, based on the impact the company’s operations have on people and the environment (impact materiality), and on the other hand, based on what financial risks or opportunities the given topic represents for the company (financial materiality).

What is a carbon footprint and what is a GHG inventory?
The carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by an organization, product, or activity, typically expressed in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e). The GHG inventory is the systematic assessment and record of this: it shows the most significant emission sources and lays the foundation for emission reduction measures.

What is the difference between an ESG report and a sustainability report?
An ESG report primarily serves compliance with current Hungarian legal regulations (the ESG law), with a specified format and content. A sustainability report is more comprehensive: it can be prepared based on international standards (e.g., GRI, VSME, ESRS) and provides a picture not only of compliance but also of the company’s long-term value creation and strategy.
